Change Corps Positions – Apply by May 15th!

Change Corps has several positions still available, which they are trying to fill by May 15th. Apply now to join their next class of organizers.

They are still accepting applications, however, they hire on a rolling basis so people should apply quickly.

Take a look at one of our spring campaigns below!

Full Day Kindergarten in Colorado

Mason Astill, has been working with the Colorado Children’s Campaign and the Full Day Kindergarten NOW Coalition for his spring campaign! This campaign was to pressure the Colorado General Assembly to increase state funding for Kindergarten from funding each Kindergartener as a half day student to funding each kindergarten enrollee as a full day student. While the majority of school districts in Colorado offer full-day kindergarten, thousands of Colorado kids are not enrolled, and if they are, the cost of the remainder of the day is taken up either by school districts or parents. That means that Colorado’s Kindergarten system was fundamentally unequal from district to district.

The Full Day Kindergarten Advocacy Day and Press Conference on April third was the culmination of months of work with a coalition of over 100 organizations all focused on bringing Colorado to fully fund a full day of Kindergarten for every child in Colorado, no matter their zip code. We also brought together Governor Jared Polis, parent advocates Kiki McGough and Karen Hampel, and bill sponsors Senator Jeff Bridges, Representative Barbara McLachlan, and Representative James Wilson to speak in the Colorado State Capitol about funding Full Day Kindergarten (see photo below).

As you might know, Change Corps offers graduating seniors and others a year-long, full-immersion training fellowship in grassroots organizing that helps prepare them for careers in social change.

Change Corps couples classroom training with real-world experience, partnering with groups like the National Education Association, MoveOn and Everytown for Gun Safety on their campaigns.
