Upsilon Sigma Logo UConn

Upsilon Sigma Honors Society is a registered student organization at UConn comprised of Urban & Community Studies (UCS) majors and minors from all campuses. The university's chapter was founded in the spring of 2018 with the help of former UCS students and Dr. Edith Barrett, the former head of the Urban and Community Studies Department.

To qualify for induction you must:

  • Be either a USC major or minor
  • Have an overall GPA of 3.3
  • Have a  3.5  GPA within the UCS major/minor
  • Completed at least 12 credits within the UCS major/minor

As a club, we have events geared toward uniting the major and getting involved in our local community. This fall semester we are planning a large volunteering event as well as a few other smaller gatherings. We work with the majority of the UCS faculty as well as Ken Foote, the head of the Urban and Community Studies Department, who serves as the club's advisor.

If you have any questions about the club please  contact Ken Foote (ken.foote@uconn.edu).
