The Urban and Community Studies program welcomes alumni participation at any of our UCS sponsored events. This is a wonderful way to stay connected with the program and the community. These events offer participants enriching experiences that positively impact local community agencies and organizations. We also view these events as an opportunity for our majors and alumni to make valuable contacts that could potentially lead to future employment or civic engagement opportunities. Please visit our homepage for UCS sponsored events and announcements of upcoming civic activities being offered on behalf of various organizations and communities.
We also encourage alumni to share with us any community events sponsored by their employer that may be of interest to our majors or other alumni. Please forward information to Maria Winnick at maria.winnick@uconn.edu.
The Urban and Community Studies Program has created a Facebook Page to help those interested in the major stay connected. On our Page, you will find information on upcoming events, links to various organizations we have worked with during the academic year, and notifications when new job postings, internship or volunteer opportunities have been added to our website. Join the Page and stay connected.
Another valuable way to stay connected to the program is to complete the Urban and Community Studies Alumni Survey. When filling out the survey, you may choose to be added to our UCS alumni list as well as indicate your interest in being a UCS ambassador. Those interested in being added to our alumni e-mail list will receive periodic e-mails informing them about upcoming UCS events or important program announcements. Those interested in being UCS ambassadors can assist the program by speaking at sponsored events where they share their academic, employment or civic experiences with current students and those interested in the major.
The Alumni Association at the University of Connecticut also offers alumni various ways to stay connected, either in person or via the internet. On the Alumni Association website, you can join the Husky Alumni Network, find out about upcoming alumni events or just look up an old friend through the Alumni Directory. Please visit their website for further information on membership services and incentives.
