The Southern New England American Planning Association (SNEAPA) Regional Conference is a great opportunity for students to volunteer, share their research, and network with planning professionals. The conference is hosted by the Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts chapters of the American Planning Association and is scheduled for October 17th and 18th 2019 at the MassMutual Center in downtown Springfield. The conference draws nearly 600 planners, landscape architects, architects, engineers, and academics and features two days of high quality, hands-on and interactive sessions, mobile workshops, planning law and planning ethics presentations.
Students can be involved in SNEAPA in the following ways:
- Volunteer – Free Registration is available for up to 14 student volunteers each day on a first come, first served basis. In exchange for free registration, volunteers will assist in collecting lunch tickets, aiding speakers with handouts or other tasks, and provide other conference support as needed. Interested students should email planningstudent@gmail.com ASAP.
- Present Research – Up to 7 students will have the opportunity to present their research at the Student Research Session on Friday, October 18th from 1:45-3:00 pm.
- Network – The SNEAPA Mentoring Lunch on Thursday, October 17th at 1:00 pm provides an informal setting for students to interact with established planning professionals
