Freedom School Servant Leader Intern Program
The Christian Activities Council has student Servant Leader Interns positions open this summer. The Servant Leader Intern work as PAID summer program counselors, Monday through Friday, with children in grades K-3. Interns lead a literacy rich curriculum in the morning and lead/chaperone activities and field trips in the afternoon. Attendance is expected at other program related functions during the summer. A Servant Leader Interns must be responsible, energetic, able to think on their feet, well- organized, and a strong role model. They should be familiar with the culture and dynamics of the community, committed to the goals of the Adventures in the City Freedom School program, and able to work collaboratively with all program constituents.
Must be between 18 to 30 years of age, completed at least one year of college, and plan to complete college degree. This program requires Servant Leader Interns to be within the age bracket to comply with the national Freedom School model. The purpose of this program is to provide leadership opportunities for young adults.
The position provides a total stipend of $2,700 over the course of 6 weeks (equating to about $11.25/hr) . CAC pays for travel/lodging expenses related to national training.
