Professional Youth Development Work

COMPASS Youth Collaborative Inc. is a not-for-profit child and youth services organization whose purpose is to promote the safety, wellness and academic success of youth, inspiring and empowering them to pursue-and contribute to- a brighter future. In partnership with school officials, parents, the community and other organizations, COMPASS endeavors to equip youth with the skills and attitude necessary for success in school and in life.

COMPASS is looking for an energetic and dynamic individual to fill our part-time Professional Youth Development Worker’s position. The purpose of this position is to initiate high quality after-school programming. General Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: implement educational and after-school curricula; align weekly work plan with the school curriculum; recruit and retain students; managed assigned groups; and remain up to date on academic achievements for assigned students.

Qualifications/Requirements: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience, experience working with urban youth, experience working with Public School Systems, knowledge of community school strategies and principles, knowledge of resources within the Hartford community.
